Here at Botelet we have made adaptations to be able to offer social distance stays during which guests are able to visit us and remain as a household unit without the need to cross over with others or use communal spaces. The cottages and yurt at Botelet are all separate from each other, with their own spacious gardens as well as being surrounded by acres of fields and countryside that you are most welcome to enjoy.

At the moment we are working towards being able to open with these policies in place from 4th July, but it will be dependent upon government policy allowing self-catering accommodation to re-open, and this is conditional and subject to change.

We have set out below the steps we are taking to ensure the safety of our guests, and also what we kindly ask of guests who are coming to stay with us, in line with government guidance.

The steps we are taking to ensure the safety of our guests include:

  • Self check-in and check-out for all properties

  • Thorough deep cleans and airing of properties in line with best practice guidance for self-catering accommodation

  • Closing the campsite for the 2020 season so that the shower, loo and fridge facilities are used exclusively by yurt guests

  • Placing sanitiser in our cottages and yurt for use when warm water and soap are not available

  • Removing paper-based folders of information for our properties, and placing this information online for guests to access

  • Asking our guests to respect the social distance space of each other, and of our family, when out and about at Botelet, and taking particular care when children are playing outside to ensure young children are supervised to prevent them from becoming too close to others

  • [Closing the trampoline??]

  • Right now we are sadly unable to offer therapeutic massage, Botelet Breakfast Club or wellness courses such as meditation classes and retreats as these require bringing disparate people from different households together in a space in which it is not possible to be socially distant. We will keep in touch as guidance on this changes.

We ask that guests visiting Botelet help us to uphold our safe spaces by:

  • Following our self check-in and departure guidelines which will be sent to you upon booking.

  • Respecting the need to remain socially distant to anyone outside of your household while staying at Botelet. This includes other guests, and also our family (we live opposite Manor Cottage). We kindly ask that you pay particular attention to Barbara who may be outside at times tending the garden, Barbara is in a higher risk category.

  • Supervising children when outside to ensure they keep a social distance with others. We recommend that children are encouraged to make use of each properties’ large private gardens during independent outdoor play.

  • Washing hands regularly and thoroughly according to guidance [link to this] using soap and water, and when this is not available using sanitiser. We have provided [sanitsier in each cottage, note what it is for and should they be leaving it there or taking it with them?]

  • Act responsibly whilst on holiday in Cornwall. If you intend to visit a location or attraction and find that it is very busy, so that it will be difficult to remain socially distant from others, the advice is to change your plans and not remain there.

  • If you or any member of your party has symptoms of COVID-19, please do not travel to Botelet for your holiday.

  • If you or any member of your party develops symptoms of COVID-19 during your stay, please [isolate and return home immediately, let us know, in line with government policy - check what the policy is on this]

  • We encourage all our guests to take out travel insurance bearing in mind that the government policies regarding holiday travel is conditional and subject to change.

Thank you so much for helping us to keep you and all of our guests safe by adhering to these guidelines. Please do contact us with any questions.
